I love the song. This is a great slide show of Vincent Van Gogh work to go with it. Take a couple minutes and enjoy the combo.

Colorful Skies
Chameleon ribbons wrap this present,
offered each an every day.
It decorates the wrapping,
for all eyes to view the display.
Sometimes white, sometimes hues of pink,
then sometimes at night the decorations wink.
The colors of the sunrise entwined with the clouds,
an awestruck painting given to the crowds.
Sometimes the colors come together,
in a delicious array of light.
Bright and cheery in the sun,
dark and seductive at night.
Opening this present is as easy a thing,
as flowers that open their petals
at the coming of spring.
Beauty shines as the dancing color settles.
A lovely part of the universe,
in this the birds love to fly,
the glorious reflection,
of the majestic sky.

For the Cookie Bakers Among Us

The folks over at the Cookie Cutter Shop have cutters for every shape of cookie you could dream of. I'm not much of a cookie baking person myself, but I do love to eat them.
One day they asked me to draw a Gingerbread Boy cookie for their website. Then they asked if I'd draw him holding a cookie. As you can see, this month I have him holding a Valentine's cookie. I'm having a wonderful with these little creations and decided to share.
Feel free to head on over to the Cookie Cutter Shop and see if they have cutting shape you've been looking for and keep an eye out for what cookie the Gingerbread Boy may be holding next.
Thanks for reading and have a grand day!

Attitude of Gratitude

We've just passed through my favorite "holiday" of all the declared holidays on the calendar.
To take a day and reflect on all the things in this life that we have to be thankful for is the best thing that anyone can do. We so often need reminders that good things come to those who live with an attitude of gratitude.
And Thanksgiving Day is a wonderful booster shot to keep us thinking that way.
This is Silhouette Sky #79, Thankfulness, Colored Pencil, 3.5 x 2.5."

Getting Balance

No, I don't do Yoga. I'm a wimp. I admire those dedicated souls who commune with their bodies with this form of exercise.
I'm still working on my Silhouette Sky series. The last few I've added the human figure. My thoughts were on balance when doing this piece. I'm a lover of balance. Life is all about balance.
Fortune and fate, justice and power, debit and credit, mental and emotional, proportional, equilibrium, harmony.... these thoughts all come to mind when thinking about keeping balance in the matters of life.
As artists, we use balance in our designs and paintings to bring about harmonious compositions. Ah, to compose our lives the same way....
Have a grand day!
